I have a 1999 volvo s80 with over 100,000 miles , What causes water to come out of the tail pipe???

If you are having large amounts of water form the tailpipe then you could have an internal engine problem such as a blown head gasket. If this is the case then the car is probably not running very good.
If the car is running good and you have small amounts of water from the tailpipe then this is normal. Small amounts of water or condensation from the tailpipe is a normal condition.
If you have large amounts of water and or white smoke from the exhaust then you need to have it checked ASAP and like I said you probably have internal engine failure..
